Ted Jackson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Apr. 28 to Apr. 29, 2023.
Ted passed away of Alzheimer's Disease at the Brookdale Silver Lake Memory Care on April 25, 2023 in Everett, Washington.

He was born in Seattle, Washington to Gustav (Gus) Val Jackson and Elizabeth (Betty Millar)

Jackson. He was raised in Ballard with his two brothers Terry and Gary and graduated from Ballard High School in 1954.

Ted served in the Army Reserve for five years. He worked many years as a draftsman at Redford Engineers. He decided to move to his cabin in Skykomish, so he could spend his time hiking, skiing, fishing and spending more time outdoors.

He met Cindy Gaston in 1973 and they were married on June 3, 1977. They lived together for 50 years in Skykomish, and over the years there were many remodels and additions to the cabin until it was their own unique space. It was cozy and reflected their style of living and their many interests and hobbies. It became a masterpiece of their life together.

After moving to Skykomish he joined the Forest Service and worked in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest until his retirement in 1999.

Music was a huge part of his life. He started playing guitar as a child and discovered a love for bluegrass music which led him to the banjo and mandolin and over the years he became extremely proficient. Much of their spare time was spent with friends playing bluegrass in Skykomish and around the Pacific Northwest.

Ted is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Cindy, his two brothers Terry and Gary, many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

At his request there will be no services. In lieu flowers please consider a donation to an Alzheimer organization of your choice.

I remember Ted as having a most kind and gentle soul and a big heart to go with it. He and Cindy welcomed me and my husband to learn and play music. We were rank beginners! Thank you for the precious memories.
