Ted N. Pickle Ted Neal Pickle, 72, of Crockett died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2010, at his home. Funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. at the Lindsey Funeral Chapel with Dr. Lee Wiggins and the Rev. Jack Rutherford officiating. A graveside committal service will be held Saturday, Oct. 9, at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Rural Retreat. He was born March 3, 1938, in Wythe County, son of the late Pierce Clark "Buck" and Dorothy Burger Pickle. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marie D. Pickle of Crockett; a son and daughter-in-law, Ted Wayne and Christina Pickle of Crockett; a granddaughter, Katie Lynn Pickle of Crockett; two sisters, Helen Wolfe of Marion, Mary Rhodes and husband, Blaine, of Rural Retreat; a brother, Ed Pickle of Rural Retreat; and several brothers-in-law, Memorials may be made to Virginia's Hospice of the Speedwell Volunteer Fire Department. Lindsey Funeral Home in Rural Retreat is in charge of the arrangements.
