Teddy Raymond Love

TEDDY R. LOVE, beloved son of Ramona (nee Handboy) and Carl Love; loving brother of Carl (Marianne) Love and Angela (Brad) Shugats; proud uncle of Madilyn, Max, Mark, Ellianna, and Keyan; special friend of Debra Reynolds; father of Asia and Jessica; and much-loved nephew, cousin and dear friend to many, passed away on September 9, 2024 at Cleveland Clinic Hospice at Avon Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Teddy, age 52, was a proud registered member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, Eagle Butte, SD and was surely met in heaven by his recently departed uncle, Tony Handboy, who Teddy admired for his part in the American Indian Movement (AIM). Teddy resided in Lorain, OH for most of his life where he thrived best while enjoying music, playing the drums, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. Teddy attended Clearview High School, Lorain, OH and freely admitted that he continued his education at the school of hard knocks for decades to follow.

To know Teddy was to surely have been fortunate enough to laugh at one of his many stories. Teddy died with certainty that Clutch was the best live band, Bruce Lee was the toughest man ever, and that he himself was surely going to hit it big in the lottery but if he didn't it was ok knowing instead that he was indeed the best BBQ master around. His regrets were few but include not training his faithful dogs Duke and Queenie to detect cancer, that he didn't hug his Mom more, and that street skateboarding and breakdancing didn't become Olympic events in the late 80's. Although having a less than average life span, Teddy did not live an average life. He laughed inappropriately at every chance, learned what he wanted to learn, loved who he wanted to love, told it like he saw it, and celebrated more than most.

He was proceeded in death by grandparents Woodrow and Lillian Love and Raymond and Madeline Handboy along with other treasured family and friends. Teddy will be tremendously missed by all. Everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate his life by telling a Teddy story of their choosing.
