Terry McCawley passed away on Wednesday, November 26 at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon. Terry was born in Hanwell, England in 1929 where he grew up and completed his education. Terry served two years with the Royal Air Force and after discharge married Edna (Crofts) on December 20, 1952. Terry worked for English Electric, BAC and ITC in England as a draughtsman before immigrating to Saskatoon in 1966 to run the design office at SED Systems. Terry retired from SED after 25 years in 1994 having achieved the position of Project Administrator. Terry had many interests including, but certainly not limited to and in no particular order, fishing, tennis, table tennis, music and the arts. In recent years he took an avid interest in bird watching and was (as was Edna) an ongoing member of the Saskatoon Golden Eagles birding club. Terry also had a vibrant interest in tracing the ancestries of both the McCawley and Crofts families, which led to many fascinating discoveries and lasting friendships. Terry is survived by his wife Edna (Crofts), children Michael (Geralyn Giovannetti) McCawley, Barbara (Brent) Zintel, and grandchildren Caitlin Zintel, Erin McCawley, Kerry Zintel and Sean McCawley. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Lilly (1974), father Charles (1989) and sister in law Irene (2004). Many thanks to Dr Johann Kriegler, as well as Dr Ghooran and the nurses and staff of 5th and 7th floor meds at St Paul's Hospital. There will be a Service of Remembrance on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Saskatoon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry's memory may be made to the United Way.
