Dorothy R. Fisher

Dorothy (Smith) Ruth Fisher, 94, died Monday, January 5, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center from complications of a fall. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 9, 2009 at Immanuel United Methodist Church. Private family burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Dorothy was born in Des Moines and has lived here most of her life. She was a retired real estate broker with Calvert Realty. Her memberships include Immanuel United Methodist Church, East High School Alumni Association and the Des Moines Realty Association. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and volunteering at her church where she was a member of the Bell Choir. Survivors include her daughter, Jan L. Robinson of Davis, CA; her son, James Fisher of Des Moines; her grandchildren: Tracey (Kevin) Klisares, Tara (Maren) Wheeler, Jeff Wheeler all of Des Moines; great grandchildren: Emily Klisares and Kennedy Hopkins; and her brother, Robert Smith of Sarasota, FL. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Jules Fisher. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church.
