Teresa Fettig Obituary
On Sunday, December 16, 2007 age 44 of South Fayette Township, passed away at home in the company of her loving family after a long battle of ovarian cancer. Beloved wife of 23 years to Thomas M. Fettig, devoted and loving mother of Nicolette and Zackary Fettig; daughter of Mary Brown; daughter-in-law of Richard and Eileen Fettig; sister of Jackie Sims and Carey Thrift; sister-in-law of Susan Lewis, Steven and Timothy Fettig; aunt of Becky and Jeffrey Lewis, Ashley Hinojosa, Caden Thrift, and Jennifer Sims. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Teresa had the most loving way about herself always showing her smile. She was a strong, determined, vibrant person that will always be loved and missed. Teresa will also be missed by Harley and Rocky; as per Teresa's wishes there are no visitations, service, and interment private. Memorials may be made to Nicolette Fettig for the Teresa Fettig Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o National City Bank, 1593 Washington Pike, Bridgeville PA 15017. Arrangements by ANTHONY G. Dear Mary, Jackie, Carey, and Teresa's family,
I'm not sure that you will see this, since time has passed and I just happened upon my friend's guest book by chance. I will add my prayers to those of so many who obviously loved you all in the years since Teresa and I were little girls in Ingram together. Finding this sad news almost a year later brought back many memories of growing up next door to each other, having 'sleep overs' and exploring the neighborhood. My Mom would always laugh when she would be cooking dinner and Teresa would say, "Hmmmmmm....Mrs McCartney...that sure smells GOOD." That memory is similar to Mary making us treats like tortillas and cheese melts - something new to me. I think that it's time for me to go open some old photo albums and think about being a teen-ager and the girl next door who was my friend. Mary, Jackie, Carey and Teresa's family - if you see this know that I will be thinking of you all this holiday season.

I became friends with Teresa in 9th grade English class at Montour High School. Our friendship continued through the summers in High School and I still have the fondest memories. I am sad to hear about her passing.

Teresa was strong, take with you her strength. Teresa had a heart bigger then Texas, take with you her love. Teresa had the confidence to try different things in life with out fear of what might or might not happen. She would plow forward to blasé a new trail in life, take with you her tools. She will be missed and I am very sorry for your pain. I pray for all of you in this time of need just remember her smile for I know she is smiling on all of you. Laugh as I know she would want you to. Think about the time she burnt the potato in the microwave and laugh with her. I miss her as I know you all do.

Although I tried to prepare for Teresa's passing, I guess I didn't do a very good job. I will miss writing to her, and I hope my notes helped in some way.
Jim and I will never forget the fun we had at some of the SYSCO functions. Teresa was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor. She was a beautiful person on the inside and outside. What we admired most about her was her strength and determination. That touched us and many, many others.
