Teresa Gamez Obituary
She was born in George West on March 26, 1933 to the late Refugio and Oralia Alaniz. She lived in Port Lavaca for over 50 years. She was a member of Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic minister and member of the Sacred Heart Society. She was a homemaker, a volunteer at Memorial Medical Center in Port Lavaca and a director of the Port Lavaca Cemetery Association. She was also a prayer warrior with several prayer groups.
Her late husband of 36 years, Gonzalo G. Gamez, died in 1987.
She is survived by six children including Joe Louis Gamez, Olga Gamez, and Esther Carrera; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Pallbearers include: Olga Gamez, Phillip Soliz, Victoria Carrera, Estevan Marin, Ruben Carrera, and Danny Rosenbrock.
Floral committee includes: Catherine Gamez Rosenbrock, Desiree Marin, Shaye Rosenbrock, and Tessa Valdez.
Family visitation will be on Thursday, Nov. 4. On Friday, Nov. 5, viewing will begin at 5 p.m. and the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., both at Artero Memorial Chapels in Port Lavaca.
Visitation will resume on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the funeral home at noon. A funeral Mass will be held at 3 p.m. at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Port Lavaca Cemetery under the direction of Artero Memorial Chapels in Port Lavaca, 361-552-2300.
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die…" (John 11: 25-26). The belief of the powerful warrior that WILL live forever.

To all those who attended the beautfiul rosary and funeral:
Our family is extremely grateful for your show of support. Your presence meant alot to all of us. You truly understood our mother's plight in life and in her death.
Her burial was marked with beautiful flowers and songs of praise (good job Gloria) and I know that mom is at peace.
Thank you again for the expressions of kindness and support and may God bless each of your families immensely.

Here and now, far and near, we sense a great loss ,To me,Teresa Always inspired me by her great strength,wisdom and love, though we did not speak daily, we would start off right where we left off,I love her So, Always joyful to hear from those she loved, Always Hopeful for the things that were not quite perfect. I thank the Lord for the previlege to have been one of those she loved, I also combine my faith with her's to know that we who know the Lord, Will be united again.So I pray for all the family,and friends,that they may recieve the Peace that comes from knowing the Lord and we too will be united

Esther (mom),
Our grandmother entrusted you with her entire life. Hang in there and know that you were led by your mother's wishes and by God's guidance. You spent countless hours with her from the beginning to the end. Hold your head up high knowing that you were told exactly what to do by Grammy and then you carried her wishes forward.
Be strong and know that God is with you. The best part of all is that Olga and you got to be a part of Grandma's last breath. Now time has come back full circle. She was there when you two took y'alls first breath and you and Olga were there when she took her last. Nothing could have been more beautiful and meaningful than that.
She loved you, Olga, and Joe tremendously and she knew that she would always have you three by her side.
