Mary Jean Findlay

We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother Jean Findlay. She leaves behind her children Dennis (Kathy), Barry (Carol), Ric (Deb), Kim (Steve) and beloved granddaughter Kara. She was predeceased by her husbands Charles Burman and Alistair Findlay.

Jean was born in Fisher Branch MB, moved to Winnipeg to take hairdresser training. She then married Charles Burman and raised 4 children. She was tragically widowed at 36 leaving her to raise her children on her own. She then married Al Findlay. Once Al had retired, they moved to Victoria to start a new chapter in their lives. Mom loved traveling and they had many wonderful trips all over the world. As well as traveling, they joined a Sidney walking group where they met many good friends and had many adventures on the island and beyond.

The family would like to thank the staff at The Peninsula who looked after her so well, Dr. Linda Wilson and the caring staff at the Palliative Care Unit at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital.

Her welcoming spirit and that incredible twinkle in her eyes will be missed by all that knew her. No service at her request.
