Teresa Joyce Surber MEADOWVIEW, Va. Teresa Joyce Surber, age 53, passed away Thursday, April 29, 2010, at her home. She was born Sept. 19, 1956, in Saltville, Va., to the late Norman and Betty Doane Surber. Teresa attended Meadowview United Methodist Church and had worked for Farm Bureau for six years as an insurance agent. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Survivors include one daughter, Nicole Leigh Allison-Nash and boyfriend, Dean Gobble of Meadowview; grandson, Dylan Reid Waddell; boyfriend, Joe Waddell; one brother, Eugene Surber and wife Leana of Saltville; five sisters, Peggy Taylor and husband Sylvester of Abingdon, Sue Buff, OK, Billie Jo Melbourne and husband Ron of Cary, N.C., Mary Snow and husband Ted of Fancy Gap, Va., and Elaine Surber; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Carolyn Hudson, Candace Moore, Sherry Johnston and Betty Cullop. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with the Rev. Scott Spence and the Rev. Dennis Banks officiating. The burial will follow at Elizabeth Cemetery in Saltville. Pallbearers will be Daniel Surber, Mikel Hawks, Jackie Morrison, Brad Spence, Nelson Hawks, and Travis Cullop. Honorary pallbearers will be Cory Johnston, Ernie Dale, Matthew Hawks, Jai Moore and Dean Gobble. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.
