Teressa Taylor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 24, 2025.
Teressa Susan "Sue" Taylor - Nov. 3, 1935 - Jun. 23, 2025. Beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother was preceded in death by husband Freddie Joe "Fred" Taylor and son Frederick Bryant "Joe" Taylor. Teressa leaves behind her son James "Mick", grandson Jarrod, and great grandchildren Larkin, and Sora. Sue was a beautiful soul from Tennessee who captured all of the titles of homecoming queen, basketball queen, football queen, etc. at Clinton High School. Graduating from Fort Sanders School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, and advanced into what later became the beginning of the Nurse Practitioner field after moving to California in the 1960's. Sue was an adventurer, traveling the world by plane, ship, car and motorcycle riding her own custom pink rose painted Honda 500. She was an active member of several organizations including VFW/Shriners Hospital/Masons/Elks Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hats. After leaving Nursing, Sue worked in research laboratories for E.I. DuPont, and Dexter Hysol Aerospace. Sue was the ultimate animal lover having had Great Danes, a Briard, and later; a ton of Cats, Possums, Skunks and Racoons who all came to eat together in her backyard. Sue and her husband also owned a bar in Brentwood for many years. She was a kind, loving and giving lady who could not stand to see others suffer, and she will be missed by all she touched. God bless her and hold her in his loving arms forever. Friends and family are invited to donate in Sue's memory to either the American Lung Association or the COPD Foundation.

Sue was our fantastic & fun neighbor in Mexico! We were the newest in our little neighborhood! What fond and fun memories we have of her and walking across the street made it so easy to talk and enjoy a few laughs together! We will miss her but she will be forever in our hearts. RIP our sweet friend! Donna and Randy York

Mama Sue. Great God Mother to my children in Norway. From the moment I met you sailing with Mick on the Royal Viking Sea, I knew you were special. I can't explain how we will miss you and how much you were and are loved. You can now be with Papa Fred. May your beautiful soul rest in peace always.

Grandma - I´m going to miss you so much. Thank you for our Thursdays phone calls, endless glasses of moonshine, and always being a confidant. I´m so thankful for the time Amanda and the kids were able to spend with you, and I´ll always cherish those memories. I love you so much and will miss you every day.

My favorite Grandma Taylor memory will forever be hanging out in the kitchen on holidays while listening to her and Uncle Mick tell stories. Our family will continue to share your wild adventures, like when you backhanded the raccoon who was trying to steal cat food, hehe. Your great grandchildren, Larkin and Sora, absolutely adored you!!! Grandma Taylor, we love you to the bottom of the ocean .

Grandma - thank you for being a sounding board, a confidant, and a drinking buddy. Our Thursday chats, endless glasses of Moonshine, and the best Thanksgiving stuffing on earth. You´ve always been such a light in my life and I´m going to miss you so much. I will always cherish the moments Amanda and the kids got to spend with you the last few years. We´re all going to miss you every day. I love you so much.

Sue was a great gal. She and Freddie were our next door neighbors at our winter home in San Felipe, Baja Calif. We enjoyed many sundowner get-to-gethers with her. She will always be a part of our happiest Baja memories. Harry & Judy Fries

When we think of Sue, there is one thing we always will remember: Whenever we showed up at her and Mick´s house, Sue received us with the warmest welcome so we felt right away like at home. And of course there was never a dull moment when she was around.
Sue, we will miss you very much. And because we will stay in contact with Mick, you will always be part of our thoughts to Antioch.
We are sure, you will rest in peace.

Dearest Mick, we are both truly heartbroken and can only imagine your grief . We will always remember our American Moma Sue, such a kind and compassionate soul, we loved you from the moment we met back in the 80's and especially when you opened your heart and home to us more recently.
Forever in our hearts and until we meet again. God bless. With love from across the pond. Hugh & Pete XX

I loved my Aunt Sue. I had the best time a few years ago visiting, we drove down the coast. I had wanted to go to Paris in 2022 she said she would go with me and covid hit so we could not. I will always hold her in my heart.

My beloved Mother. I cannot begin to express how much I love and will miss you! I am beside myself in grief and my heart is broken. I not only lost my mother, but also my best friend, confidant, companion, and warrior. The smartest person I have ever known, both book and worldly. I can only find happiness that you received the Lord's blessing and then passed peacefully almost immediately after you were blessed/baptized. I know in my heart that was you and God telling me you are safe and with him. I love you so much, you will always be with me and CHEERS mom, until we meet again.
