Terrence Johnson Obituary
The youngest of eleven siblings, Terry proudly served his country as a Senior Airman in the United States Air Force from 1981 to 1985. Specializing as an integrated avionics attack control systems specialist, he completed training at Lackland AFB in Texas, Lowry AFB in Colorado, and Nellis AFB in Nevada before concluding his service at MacDill AFB in Florida, where he chose to remain until his passing.
Those who knew Terry will remember his booming voice, his joyous laughter and his love for those close to him. Terry was a respected professional in the trucking and auto parts industry, working in inside sales and later as a consultant. He was also deeply passionate about Tampa sports teams and enjoyed playing hockey in recreational leagues in Brandon for several years. Later in life, Terry dedicated himself to serving veterans through his involvement with the American Legion and VFW. He held numerous leadership roles, including 1st Vice Commander and Adjutant of American Legion Post 148 and Safety Officer and President of the Men's Auxiliary for VFW Post 8108. As a Patriot Instructor, he worked tirelessly to promote patriotism and community service.
Terry is survived by his daughter Ashley (Alex) Magill; grandson Hunter; significant other Lori Yeago; and siblings DuWayne (Penny), David (Suzi), Steven, Barbara (Gary) Odman, Bruce (Diane), Jeffery, Karen (Lenny) Wodarczyk, and Kevin (Molly), along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Evelyn Johnson and brothers James and Richard.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held on Monday, January 20th, at 2 p.m. at American Legion Post 148, 7240 US Hwy 301, Riverview, FL 33578. His ashes will be interred at Florida National Cemetery Columbarium 5 on Tuesday, January 21st, at 10:30 a.m., located at 6502 SW 102nd Ave., Bushnell, FL 33513.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Boys State program in Terry's memory.

I grew up with Terry, attended school with him and often visited the family farm. I remember his big voice, big presence and eye for mischief. As the youngest of the Johnson family, he'd about seen it all and was fearless. Even as kids, it was a comfort knowing Terry was in your corner. I'm proud to know that he's being remembered as a patriot.

Terry will missed greatly by everyone that is for sure. Terry always had been kind to me. He signed me up the American Legion. He always seem to make everyone smile and have a good . Rest in peace.
