Terry Mary Rottman Bahm

Every once in a while, the world is graced by an unusual person, unlike everybody else. This particular person was unusual in her simplicity, her indescribable, spontaneous sense of humor, but unmatched in her rare, good taste. That was Terry Bahm. Terry Mary Rottman Bahm passed away at Center Point Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Baton Rouge after a 6 year battle with Alzheimer's disease on Sunday, August 1, 2021, at the age of 67. She was born on June 2, 1954, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the only child of Albert Armand and Ellen Bernoudy Rottman. She grew up and spent most of her life in Ponchatoula. Terry was a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and a self-taught graphic artist. She worked in the graphics department at Southeastern, North Oaks Medical Center and Neill Corporation. Terry worked harder on her projects than anyone I know, and when she was finished, they looked as though a master had easily crafted them. A master indeed. Terry and I started the lasting tradition of the Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival posters and did promotional posters for other events such as the 1984 World's Fair in New Orleans. She loved traveling. Terry went to Paris three times in ten years. Being her good friend meant you had to help babysit her myriad of pets while she travelled. Five of her favorites: her Irish Setters, Kelly and Levy, her horse, Hi Ho (Silver), and her mustache parakeet, India were like regular family members and were probably waiting for her at the pearly gates.
