Terry Kent Miller

Simi Valley - Terry Kent Miller, 79, of Simi Valley, California passed away peacefully on March 26, 2024 in Thousand Oaks, CA. He was born to Harold and Novella Miller of Rock Island, Illinois. At Rock Island High School he participated in wrestling and football. He graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a BS in Industrial Technology. Employers included Continental Can Company, Denver Equipment Company, NL Rucker, Paul-Munroe Hydraulics, HR Textron and ITT Aerospace. Besides work, which he enjoyed, he raced sailboats on Lake Michigan, was a PADI Divemaster, an instrument rated private pilot with an A&P license, past Director of Simi Valley HOG Chapter, skied throughout Europe and North America. He enjoyed duck, deer and antelope hunting and trap shooting. He traveled to 4 continents for new adventures and to acquire new skills. The events Terry most enjoyed were diving Truck Lagoon, 10 minutes in his log book flying a Mitchell B25, skiing Alta (since lift tickets were $6) and sailing his Cal 25 MkII and other adventures with Sandy, Amanda and treasured lifelong friends.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Sandra and their daughter Amanda. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Diane. Special thanks to his physicians and staff at Los Robles Hospital who provided excellent care during his final days.
