PEFFLY

Terry Peffly, known to his friends as “Peff“, passed away peacefully on Monday, at St. Mary's' Hospital in Reno. He was in the company of his loving wife, Jackie.

Terry was born in Dayton, Ohio in 1944, and moved to California in 1976. He worked as an engineer at Tahoe Forest hospital for 18 years where he met, and later married, Jackie. Terry never met a stranger and enjoyed classic cars and camping. He was an exceptional man, a loving husband and father, as well as a “cool“ grand-pa.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arlando and Mary Ann Peffly. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jackie of Reno; his daughter, Suni Parker and son-in-law, Bobby of Las Vegas, NV; his sister, Candace Peffly of Dayton , Ohio; his stepsons, Shawn and Brennan Counts of Sacramento, CA and grandchildren, Kelsie and Skye Parker, also of Las Vegas as well as Joshua and Jessica Counts, also of Sacramento. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service was held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Ross, Burke, and Knobel Funeral Home, 2155 Kietzke Lane, Reno. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Terry's memory make a donation to Community Outreach, Evelyn Mount, 2530 Cannan Street, Reno, NV 89512.

Jackie, I went to high school with Terry and Larry Coleman was thoughtful enough to inform many of us of his passing. My memories of Terry are of a very witty, kind, and caring person. My positive thoughts and prayers are with you and the rest of Terry's family and friends and join you in what appears to be a wonderful celebration of his life.

We will always remember our cousin Terry with a lot of love and good memories. He was always such a terrific guy. We will never forget the time he gave us a personal tour of Lake Tahoe, or the time the "Tipp City girls" visited Fanny Bridge and San Francisco with him.

With deepest sympathy,
Barb and Scott Etherington
