Terry Lee Rigsby

1965-2022

Terry Lee Rigsby, was promoted to heaven on August 18, 2022., after an 18 year battle with Renal cell cancer. He was a fighter from the day he was Born on January 16, 1965 in Kokomo, Indiana to Charles and Marjorie Rigsby. He always said he was the only one among his siblings that was born in a different town/hospital. All 6 of his brothers and sisters were born in the same city at the same hospital by the same doctor, except for Terry. He considered this a badge of honor that made him special, and that he was!!

A graduate of John Rogers High School in 1983, Terry was involved in every sport he could. He excelled in football and baseball resulting in many scholarship offers to play baseball at several top 10 schools. However, Terry had other plans. Turning down all scholarships to the disappointment of Coach Payton, Who actually went and spoke with Terry's parents trying to urge him to play college ball. However, they indicated "do you know Terry?" As we all know, Terry always made his own decisions and went big.

His first big move was opening his own business with his longtime friend, Brad Louden, at the age of 20. Terry ended his career at the time of passing as CEO and President Of Superior Merchandising and Construction, where he partnered with his life long friend of 54 years, Darren Enquist, when moving back to Spokane in 2012. He had a successful 37 year career building and remodeling motels, Halloween haunted houses for MGM in Las Vegas, remodeled golf club houses on the PGA tour negotiating his hours as 6:00a.m.to 3:00p.m. and then getting to golf the same course after work was done each day. Lastly, for the past 28 years, he worked in all 50 states helping construct and remodeling Lowe's Home Improvement stores.

Terry was married to Tammy "Bowles" Rigsby at the time of his passing. High School sweethearts in the early 80's, life took them their separate ways, but reunited them 30 years later. They were married in 2016 bringing their love story full circle. Terry and Tammy's love story is one that books are written about

Terry loved his Family, Golf, Watching and playing all sports throughout his life, Golf, Collecting old money, Golf, music, especially the oldies AC/DC, Golf, NASCAR, Golf, Lazy Sundays and last but not least, the annual Golf Trips to warmer places the last week of every year with family and friends. Another one of Terry's biggest joys was putting on the annual Rigsby Family Christmas Party. Terry and bothers Mike and Bill loved making up and changing the rules for the family gift exchange as they went. Of course Terry's true joy was the kids and seeing all their faces light up when he delivered his traditional years worth of candy filling Christmas sacks 3/4 of the way full from Uncle/Papa T!!

Terry loved as hard as he worked. If he loved you, you knew it, and he would do anything for you. I do not know of a child that ever disliked Terry, he definitely had a way with little humans. People describe him as being patient, kind, and always willing to step up. A role model for his children and his grandsons, and the best friend anyone could ever have. Terry will truly be missed by all and was definitely one of the good ones.

Terry was superseded in reaching heaven by his parents, Charles (2010) and Marjorie(2008) Rigsby, his Brother-in-Law Denny Eldredge (2016) as well as his father-in-law Bob "Coach" Bowles (2011). I can just see Terrys mom and dad waiting at the pearly gates with open arm ready to welcome their youngest son to heaven. I can can also see Bob waiting in the background and saying to Terry, "I see you finally married my daughter... you have a lot of running to do!!

Terry is survived by his Wife, Tamara (Tammy Bowles) Rigsby, his 3 daughters Breeann Enquist (Ryan),Mickell Rigsby-Rangel (Domian to be married on 9\17\22), and Mekea Rigsby; his Step-son Kodi Barker; and his step daughters (Tammy's daughters), Madison Huffman (Scott) and Emma Amoruso (Tyler). Terry adored his grandsons, Jace Lee, age 4, (Kodi), Daxtyn Abel, age 3 and Asher Ley, age 6 months, (Mickell/Domian), Kasen Louis, age 3 months (Breeann/Ryan), and Everett Scott, age 2 (Madison/Scott).

Terry was the second to the youngest of 5 brothers and 2 sisters. His brothers Charles Rigsby (Terry), Rick Rigsby, Michael Rigsby(Paula) and Billy Rigsby (Margarita" Margie") his 2 sisters, Marjorie "Midge" Rigsby-Eldredge (Denny 2016) and Debbie Rigsby (Mark). Terry's extended family consists of many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and honorary brothers Darren Enquist and Brad Louden who are considered family by Terry and Tammy

I have had a problem putting my thoughts on Terry´s passing into words. I felt like doing this made cut real that Terry has left us. He was a business friend for many May years and a competitor for many of them. Over the years, if I needed advice or help on a job or he did, we would talk and help each other. Terry was always there for a friend and ready to help. A real person. No BS involved. I will miss his steady support and council. I have grand children and I will never for get how proud he was to join the GP club. There are many praises I can recite about Terry but I would be redundant. He was a beautiful human being that was taken from us to soon. We will all miss him and the world will not be the same without him. I pray for his family to find peace and pray for his eternal soul. We will all miss our buddy!

My family and I would like to say how sorry we are for your family´s loss. I went to school with Terry´s sister Debbie and my brother played softball with Terry and what an amazing player he was a true athlete.
Terry was one of nicest guys our family had the privilege to know and thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Terry, will be missed as a friend and a great coworker. He was always there for me when i need him for Projects in the Lowe's Stores. Terry always took care of me and the team when we where working in NY City. it only took a phone call and he made it happen. but most of all he was a very good friend and was fun to hang out with in the stores. may God be with the Family during this time.

Tiffany and I will be in attendance. Terry was a vibrant, caring, and dedicated force of nature in all he did and sought to do. He always brightened my day when I had the opportunity to speak with him, and he always kept his word both personally and professionally. He will be greatly missed.

I have only known Terry for around 5 years. He definitely was a great human. I have, because of my 50 years in the business, known many talented, industrious business people. Terry was in the top two of all of them. He was kind, and a friend to everyone. He will be greatly missed.
