Terry Wahler 59, of Merrillville, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at home with his family. Survived by his wife Stella, children, Rick (Cindy) Harter, Shawnee (Jeff, Jr.) Oxley, grandchildren, Kara, Alisha, Brittany, Caylee, Dayton, brothers, Danny and Haskell and Aunt, Loretta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Zelma and siblings, Carolyn Webster and Charles Sales. Terry was retired from Universal Laundries in Skokie, a Distributor for Auto Trader and loved traveling and going to flea markets. Visitation, Wednesday, April 8, from 4-8, with Funeral Services, Thursday at 11AM, all at Sheets Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave, Lowell. Burial following in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Lung Cancer Research Foundation. www.sheetsfuneral.com

I wish I had known so that I could've reached out. I have such great memories of Terry a anti government hippie living in the basement. He is my uncle, Carolyn is my Mom. I lost touch with him a long time ago but have many great memories. God bless your family

Terry was my uncle, my mother Carolyn, was his sister. I am just heartbroken to have learned of Terry's passing and devastated to see that it was lung cancer just like my mother and grandmother Zelma. Thank you for posting so many photos. When I think of Terry I remember him like the photo with the green shirt, brown pants, and long curly hair. Terry the Hippie. In the photo with the dog he looks so much like his mother it's funny/scary and in many of them he looks like my brother, Thomas, and my own son, Jaymes. I am so sorry he is gone, I am crying as I type this, but so happy he found so much love and joy in his life.
