I only just saw this site when searching for you, Donna. I'm in NC for an extended period and was hoping to find you. I'm not sure you will find this message a year after Thad's passing, but to you and your family, I'm so very sorry for the loss of Thad. I know he is happy where is now, but the hole his passing over at such a young age has left in your hearts is painful. I will keep you in my thoughts.
With love,
Ginger Vanderschaaf

Dear Donna - I am thinking of you and all the family. Our family only became aware of Thad´s death this weekend. Perhaps someone had tried to communicate with us through Dianne. She died two weeks ago and we are mourning the loss of our sister.
Could you please ask Holly to email me?
Take care - my condolences to you all.
Lovingly - Tess (Teresa Jones)

Thad was our first cousin - nephew of our Mother, Helen Morgan Jones. And his mother, our Aunt Mary, was dear to our family. My siblings and i - Stephen, Dianne, Marcus and I (Teresa - now Tess) - always looked forward to Aunt Mary and Uncle Johnny bringing Thad and Holly to visit us in Winston-Salem. We could hardly wait to see their car turn in off Polo Road. As young cousins we played crazy kids games and I´m certain ran about in Grandma Morgan´s yard like little tornadoes.
As a young adult, Thad visited me in Colorado, and we enjoyed a fondness built on our childhood memories and love of our families for one another.
I send hugs and warm thoughts to everyone who held him dear.

My dad was a huge A type personality AFTER children I´ve heard. We changed him so much. He was so protective of us. A lot of my memories are of him having us learn things like extreme sports and woodworking, sanding staining. I would watch him build new bike pieces and be shining metals with him. I also remember often being unable to sleep at night and he was a night owl so I´d get up at 3am and go sit on his lap and watch whatever he was watching on the tv for a few minutes and I remember the smell of the beer he´d be drinking haha. He liked sierra nevadas. My adult memories are filled with lots of long conversations about history, wwii, and the mysterious places on earth. He gave me my love of archeology and ability to question things and dig deeper than the surface of what we´re told. He taught me how to defend myself and shoot a gun very well. I have fond memories of shooting with him at the range. Also riding bikes together at Salem Lake which I will return to the rest of my life to ride. He also had a secret funny silly side he would hide from the world except for us. He was a true Cancer zodiac sign, loved family and the rest of the world can go away. He had a thick outer shell but was super soft inside only we were allowed to see. He loved his comfy clothes and watching shows on the couch. I love you dad.

My first memory of Thad is hearing my Dad call him a hippy. Thad was a good looking guy that stole my sisters heart. I remember him being funny and very artistic.

Steve and I were long time customers of Thad. We are heartbroken over the news of his passing. He would always speak of his family on his visits to our shop. We are keeping your family in our prayers.
