Gary W. Paulson

PAULSON, GARY W. "Uncle Gary"; age 67; 41-year resident of Clawson; died May 5, 2011 at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, MI. He was born October 13, 1943 to Ralph and Mary in Detroit, MI. Gary retired in 1998 from General Motors after 31 years as an accountant. He was a member of the Royal Oak Elks Lodge #1523, the founder of the Royal Order of B.F.P., a volunteer assistant baseball coach in Clawson, a Cub Master in Troop #1097, and a proud member of the Bishop Foley Dads Club, awarded the Dad of the Year in 1989. His wife Eileen of 44 years married August 26, 1967 in Detroit, MI survives Gary. Gary enjoyed golfing with his friends and family and was an avid sports fan. He was the rock of our family and was an enduring loyal friend to us all. He was very wise, loving and supportive. He will be dearly missed for his great story telling and his sense of humor. Loving father of Gordon (Megan), Catherine (Michael) Swaney and Linda Paulson (Joachim Buchner); beloved grandfather of Benjamin, Owen, Elizabeth, Patrick and William; siblings; Ralph Gregory (Susan) Paulson and Richard; also survived by his best friends, John (Marilyn) Wanko; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Mary Paulson; and one grandson, Kevin. A Celebration of Gary's Life will be held Monday 12 Noon at Gramer Funeral Home, 705 North Main Street (Livernois, North of 14) Clawson, MI.
