Tully and Stacy; I was so saddened to hear of your father's passing. I'll always remember his warm smile and laughter, I'll never forget my last conversation with him. He had come down to church in Sikeston for a service and he said to me "I feel like I'm back home" I replied you are home, this will always be your home.
I do remember many years ago, a Halloween youth party at church. Your father was dressed all in black with a big black cape. Us older kids and he went out to a country cemetery for some scary fun. When the younger ones arrived (Tully you were one of those kids) he rose up from behind a tombstone and scared everyone. There was so much screaming and laughter, we all had so much fun! And of course, your father probably got scolded for that, but it sure was fun. Best Halloween ever! That's what I loved about your father, never a dull moment! Than touched so many lives,he'll be greatly missed.

My Darling Kiddo claimed Father Than as Grandfather one day after church, at barely 3 yrs old. I asked, where Father Nathaniel was...and this little voice shouted: "Grandfather!!!" Father turned and my kiddo took off into his arms. That moment sealed the deal. They had claimed one another as family in that moment. Grandfather would take my kiddo to every Father/Daughter dance, during grade school. As a single Mother, whose on Father passed away, this was a blessing beyond measure. He loved us with his whole heart and we loved him with ours. He is missed...as my kiddo grows up...I know he's watching over us. We love you all...and we grieve his loss with you...and revel in his joyous spirit even as our hearts break. We love you, Grandfather.
Always,
D&C

Many blessings to the family and friends of Than. He was a wonderful person and priest. I served as senior warden during his tenure at St. Matthew´s Warson Woods. We faced several challenges prayerfully, thoughtfully and compassionately. His loving, gentle character and full-face smile will always be in my heart. I regret that I will be out of town and unable to attend what I know will be a meaningful memorial of him.

My first real memories are going over to you all´s house in Newport (AR) for dinner and catching tidbits of Uncle Than´s stories and the hysterical laughter after!

My late partner and I enjoyed friendship and fellowship with Than and John when they served at Advent. They were very kind to us, and invited us a few times to break bread with them. Than will be missed. God keep him in your eternal peace.

I met Father Than in 1991 when I was a newly ordained rabbi in Hot Springs,AR. He was a wonderful source of advice, wisdom and friendship. I often sought his counsel. He will be missed!

I am so sorry for your family´s loss. Father Nathaniel was a wonderful man and a caring, loving, and compassionate priest. He will certainly be missed by those of us who knew him in St. Louis.
