Theodore Daw Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 25, 2015.

Theodore Wayne Daw (Teddy), 77, of Eagle Point, OR, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2015 on his way to go fishing with his best friends. He was born July 25th, 1938, in Klamath Falls, OR and soon after his family moved to the Rogue Valley. He graduated from Eagle Point High School where he had a long-standing record for the long jump and had attended Oregon State University. He will be remembered by his community involvement which included his long-time employment in the trucking industry and several small businesses including Eagle Sport and Tackle, The Mine Shaft Pizza Parlor, and Teddy Bear Pizza in Grants Pass. He had a great love of music and even played the trombone in the 1957 Rose Bowl while attending OSU. He loved working with children and enjoyed several years of coaching Little League Baseball. He was well known and loved by all.

After being diagnosed with terminal cancer in 1995, he worked tirelessly in educating people about his method of naturopathic healing without the use of chemotherapy and radiation. He wrote several books on natural healing and wrote thousands of letters to various organizations in an attempt to help people with their fight with cancer.

He was preceded in death by his father Theodore Roosevelt Daw and mother Velma Lena Hannah Daw. He is survived by his wife, Andrea Daw, one sister, Shirley Beare and three children, William (Mary), Theodore (Tammy) and Debbie as well as seven grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He has so many loving members of his family which include cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the Eagle Point Grange on Sunday, October 4 beginning at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Andrea Daw at PO Box 865, Eagle Point, OR 97524. Please sign the guest book. The family would love to know your story about Teddy.

Uncle Ted ... I'm so thankful that you were a part of our family...growing up you always made me feel important and you always had a smile. Though the memories of childhood are so long ago...how sweet they are. Teddy Bear Pizza & a pitcher of Root Beer...you playing the guitar and Debbie singing with you....and the last time I saw you at Family Reunion on the Oregon Coast. Forever, when I think of you I will see your smile. RIP I love you.

Grandad,
You played such an important role in my life, and my four babies. There are so many great memories I have with you... the love and support you've shown me over the years is something seldomly found in life. It breaks my heart that you aren't here anymore... for our early morning cups of coffee, inspirational talks, my singing partner... or company and laughter during the holidays. I love you so much and you will always be in our hearts.

I remember when Ted had the Mine Shaft Pizza. One night my mom, dad, brother and I went there for dinner. As we were leaving, my mom tripped over a big rock that was part of the landscaping. Ted was really worried about her. I will always remember how he helped mom that night. I also remember that he was a good friend of my dad, Phil Blevins. RiP, Teddy. You are missed. My thoughts and prayers and hugs are with the family in this time.
