Theodore Dykstra Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, and grandfather Ted Dykstra on August 6, 2011 at the age of 69.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Elsie; daughter: Lisa (John); sons: Tim and David; grandchildren: Madison and Liam, he also leaves behind countless cherished friends, colleagues, and extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents Lulof and Albertina in 1995.
Ted was born in the Netherlands and immigrated to Edmonton in 1953, he left a big legacy to this world. He worked as a Senior Regional planner for the province of Alberta, worked extensively for the United Way and was very dedicated to his church. Teds family was very important to him and he took great pride in spending time with his grandchildren.
A Celebration of Teds Life will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing one hour before the service. At Christ Community Church, St. Albert, AB. (take Bellerose Drive to Coal Mine Road).
Lunch and Internment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Way of Edmonton.

I will remember Ted as a caring and committed man of integrity who easily shared a laugh with others. I'm happy to have known him. My sincere sympathy to you Elsie and family, for your loss.

I was so sorry to hear of Ted's passing. I worked with Ted for several "Camapaigns" at United Way I always remember him for his warm and thoughtful manner. Elsie and Lisa my deepest sympathy to you and your families.

We did not see Mr Dykstra face to face but we felt very connected to him here at the Sturgeon Community Hospital Laboratory.

Elsie - I am so sorry to hear of Ted's passing. While it's been many years since we last saw each other, I still have many fond memories of the "old days" on the Canada Land Inventory and at the Provincial Planing Branch. Ted was truly a man of committment!

I'm truly sorry to hear about the passing of our friend Ted. I was truly blessed to have known Ted through the Alberta Energy United Way Campaign.
