HANSEN, THEODORE ELDON, age 93, of Vestaburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at home with his family by his side. Ted's life will be celebrated at a memorial visitation on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Clark Family Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the family, to be donated at a later date. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. Ted was born March 16, 1930, near McBride, the son of Arnold B. and Inez L. (Stratton) Hansen. He was a graduate of Vestaburg High School with the class of 1948. Shortly after graduation, Ted married the love of his life, Lila Jean House, on June 19, 1948, remaining happily married for the next seventy-five years. He retired from Hitachi Magnetics in 1990 after thirty-eight years as a tool and die maker. Ted was an avid sports fan; he especially enjoyed playing baseball, bowling, golfing, hunting, and fishing. He played Michigan Amateur Baseball for twenty-seven years. He also bowled for over fifty years and was inducted into the Michigan Bowling Hall of Fame. Ted loved attending the many sporting events of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of Ferris Center Church of Christ in Vestaburg. Ted will be dearly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. Ted is survived by his wife Lila Hansen; children, Phillip (Janice) Hansen of Sidney, Debra Platt of Edmore, Roger Hansen of Riverdale, Kevin (Glenda) Hansen of Vestaburg, Tammy (Walter) Bennefield of Lansing, Terry "Buzzy" Hansen of Riverdale; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; brother Steven Hansen of Crystal; in-laws Kay (Stan) Curtiss of Mt. Pleasant, Sandra Westerhof of Marine City, Pat (Larry) Switzer of Holt; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents; son Gary; brother Stanley Hansen; son-in-law Dennis Platt; and brothers-in-law Kenneth House, Charles House, Robert House, and Jack Westerhof.
