Patty Henry McKinney

Services celebrating the life of Patty Henry McKinney will be conducted on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Matthew Chapman officiating. A private family graveside service will be in Rose Hill Cemetery prior to service.

Patty was born in Tyler on Aug. 10, 1934, the youngest child of Lester and Nellie Henry. She passed away at The Hospice of East Texas in Tyler on Nov. 1, 2014, following a short illness.

Patty attended Tyler schools and graduated from Tyler High school with the class of 1951. She then attended Midwestern University in Wichita Falls and Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She served as a lady-in-waiting during the 1952 Tyler Rose Festival.

Patty concerned herself primarily with the raising of three daughters, but she also entered the workforce after her children were in school. Primary employment included Data Pro, Tyler Bank and Trust in Tyler and Pearl Brewing Co. in San Antonio. She also was an avid golfer during her later years.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by brothers, Sonny and Bobby Henry. She is survived by her husband, retired Commander Charles McKinney, U.S. Navy, of Tyler; three daughters, Debra Holmes, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Tricia Anderton, of Lake Palestine, and Stacey Tucker, of Fort Worth; sister, Iva Kemp, of Houston; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
