Theodore Long Obituary
Theodore "Ted" E. Long, age 48, of Woodridge, Va., died February 12, 2009 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
Ted is survived by his daughter, Gina McClanahan and grandsons, Liam and Aidan Thomas, of Wood-bridge, Va., father, James Long and wife, Sandy, of Huntington, Ind., mother, Vera Long, of Rio, W.Va., sister, Debbie Jacobs and husband, Vince, of Woodbridge, Va., brothers, David Long, of Woodbridge, Va., Jerry Long and wife, Penny, of Hunt-ington, Ind. and Andy Long, of Edgewater, Md., step-brothers, Lonnie, Dennis and Lance Wenholz of Denver, Colo. and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
A celebration of Ted's life will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Mountcastle Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd, Dale City, Va. with a funeral service on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Mountcastle Funeral Home. Interment is private. Arrangements by Mountcastle Funeral Home.

To the Long Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of your sorrow. I went to school with Ted. He was a really great guy that I hadn't seen in many years until running into to him about 3-4 years ago. I know he will be missd dearly. Just remember the good times that everyone has shared with him.

Aunt Vera, Uncle Jim and the Long family,
I was so sad to hear about the loss of Ted. It's been years since I've seen most of the family, but I have many fond memories of times we all spent together.

Though I did not work with him very long, I found he was a warm hearted person with a big heart. He made me laugh every morning, he also brought me coffee just the way I like it. I will miss him. His family is in my prayers through this hardship.

I will always remember Teddy with great fondness. He was always there to help you out. His love of animals endeared him to me. I will never forget the times I could always find my cats being spoiled by all the Longs but especially Teddy. I think they spent as much time with him as they did me. I will also never forget the time I woke him up very early one snowy, icy morning because I had locked myself out of my car. He didn't hesitate to come help me out. From the young boy I used to babysit to the man he became, to me he will always be Teddy - not Ted. I had not seen him in years but good memories always come to mind at the mention of his name.

We go way back to the Giant's football & cheerleading in the early 70's with Teddie's parents as our coaches. To a warm-hearted guy that I spent time with and could depend on. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
