THEODORE C. "TED" PFEIFFER

PFEIFFER THEODORE C. "TED" of Brighton, died October 30, 2012. Born July 11, 1948 – the 5th and last son – to Theodore and Elizabeth (Kost) Pfeiffer. Raised on Robson in Detroit with his older brothers: Martin, Albert, Peter, and William. Attended Our Lady Gate of Heaven Grade School, St. Theresa and Detroit Cathedral High Schools graduating in 1967, Schoolcraft College, Michigan State University and Wayne State University graduating in 1972. Ted is survived by his wife, Roberta Owens, the love of his life, two brothers Albert (Sandra), and Peter (Patricia) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews. Ted retired from the State of Michigan in November 2010 after working for "social services" (DSS/FIA/DHS) mostly in Central Office, Lansing. Many fellow State Employees knew Ted because of his webboard reports of the peregrine falcons in downtown Lansing. While working for the State, it was sometimes Ted's job to say NO or to point out "alternative" ways/points of view. But, that is the way he saw his job. Ted hunted early in life, but stopped after meeting Ms. Ro (one of his loving nicknames for Roberta). For a time, he was active with Boy Scouts. Ted was a member of Moose Lodge 440 Skidway Lake, MI and Howell Elks Lodge 2168. For many years, Ted greatly enjoyed bowling in Monday Night Men's Bowling leagues. There will be no funeral services. Cremation has taken place, and the puff of smoke has dissipated into the atmosphere. In place of a gathering, Ted suggests that you remember him the next time you partake in an "adult" beverage. Suggestions are: Jack Daniels on the rocks or a cold draft beer – two of his favorites. Alternately, a donation could be sent to: Paws With a Cause (4646 South Division, Wayland, MI 49348) or the Capuchin Soup Kitchen (1870 Mt. Elliott St., Detroit, MI 48207-3485) which were two of his favorite charities. Care was entrusted to the Keehn Funeral Home, Brighton.
