Theodore Ronald Simon

SIMON, Dr. Theodore Ronald Dr. Theodore Ronald Simon, 69, beloved husband of Marcia (Anyzeski) Simon for 44 years, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in Dallas, Texas. Born in Hartford on February 2, 1949, he was the son of the late Theologos and Lillian (Faix) Simon. Theodore grew up in Wethersfield, CT and was a graduate of Wethersfield High School, Trinity College and Yale School of Medicine. His medical residencies brought him to the University of California in San Francisco and back to the Yale School of Medicine where he was the Chief Resident in Training. He was the former Deputy Director of Nuclear Medicine at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland and was a Clinical Associate Professor of Nuclear Medicine at the Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. His later practiced Nuclear Medicine for over twenty-five years at Medical Cities Hospital in Dallas, Texas. His practice included interest in Environmental Medicine where he published many articles on Environmental Health, including the longterm effects of Gulf War Syndrome on Troops serving during Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. He was a member of the AMA and MENSA and possessed a lifetime love of learning. His great interest in the Boy Scouts of America led to his many years of involvement with the group as he took joy in his sons earning their Eagle Scout Awards with Troop 82. He memory will be cherished by loving wife Marcia, three sons, Jacob Simon and wife Jaimie of MA., Theo Simon and wife Mary of KY, and Mark Simon of MA; two cherished grandchildren, Jackson Henry Simon and Jenna Ophelia Simon; his sister Becky Simon of Wethersfield; sister-in-law Mary Anyzeski and husband David Moniz of MA, and many extended family members friends and colleagues. Calling hours will be Wednesday (April 4) from 9-11 a.m. concluding with a funeral service at 11:00 at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield.
