Ted Cassell entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 surrounded by family and care members at the home of his daughter. Ted was born August 2, 1942 in Harrisburg PA. He is survived by his children, Natalie (Cassell) Quigley and husband William Quigley, son Jeffrey Lee Cassell, brother Maynard Cassell and grandsons Timothy Quigley and Patrick Quigley.

He was preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Betty (Berrier) Cassell.

Ted was a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School in 1960. Ted entered the Army and served with the Army 293 Engineers until 1963. During that time he married his high school sweetheart Donna (Graham) Cassell. They were married for 35 years.

Ted worked primarily as an iron worker and welder with Aycock, Cumberland Bridge, and Cumberland Steel. He ended his career as a bridge inspector for Michael Baker. At the time of his death he was residing in Shermansdale with his beloved cat Templeton.

Throughout his life he enjoyed spending countless hours at a family retreat. He was also an avid golfer, hunter, and reader as he loved his westerns. He was a former member of the Susquehanna Yacht Club and he enjoyed sailing his boat. He was also an active member of the West Fairview American Legion Post 984.

A memorial picnic will be held in the spring at the family's convenience.

Cremation Services were provided by Cremation Society of Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, or the Harrisburg Humane Society.
