Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 11, 2006.
Theresa (Ho) Wai Mui Moy, 77, beloved wife of Francis K. Moy, died Sunday, September 3, 2006, at home after a courageous battle with the complications of diabetes.

Theresa was born in Hong Kong in 1927, the daughter of Ho Yim Hon and Agnes Poon Ho, deceased. She immigrated to the United States following her marriage to Franny in the summer of 1962 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Terry was a graduate of Grantham Teaching College and St. Mary's College, both of Hong Kong. Prior to immigrating to the United States, Terry was an elementary school teacher, teaching the third grade. She worked at Sprague Electric and Allegro Microsystems Inc, retiring in 1993. Terry was an accomplished swimmer in her younger days. She once competitively swam the width of Hong Kong Harbor. She was active in the community. She was a member of the Shrewsbury Senior Center and a member of the Busy Bee Knitting Group offering her creative and design talents without the use of patterns or written instructions. She devoted time to the Explorer Scout Post 73 for many years, always cooking up a variety of Chinese delicacies for the young men. Terry was an amateur radio operator (KAIDGU) and active for many years in the Central Mass Amateur Radio Club. Theresa loved people and she loved to travel and make new friends. She had the opportunity to visit the far reaches of the globe from Singapore, Malaysia and Japan to England, Spain and Scotland. Terry leaves her husband of 44 years, Francis K. Moy, and several brothers and sisters: Vivian Chan of Singapore, Julie Wong, Ada Ho Douglas, Peter Ho, Annie Li, and William Ho, all of Vancouver, BC, Canada, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 12, at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 114 Princeton St., Jefferson. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial park, Paxton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VNA Care Hospice or a charity of one's choice, 120 Thomas St., Worcester MA 01608. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, is directing arrangements.
