Therese Poe Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 13, 2024.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Therese Marie Poe on October 31, at the age of 52, in Arroyo Grande, California. A loving wife, daughter and sister, Therese, or "Tia", will always be remembered for her generous, thoughtful nature and her love of all living things.

Born on April 8, 1972, in Redwood City, Therese grew up the daughter of William and Margaret Pardini, and sister to Will. In reality, countless "siblings" regularly relied on Therese for her love and support. She blessed the Pardini and Schoenstein families with their first grandchild, Benjamin, on April 3, 1996.

A graduate of California State University, Fresno, in 2002, Therese worked many years as an Administrative Executive specializing in both company payroll and taxes. Many of her younger years were spent with family in Redwood City and Fresno, and she made memorable trips to see relatives in the United Kingdom. As a military spouse, Therese made significant impacts on countless families, loved ones and spouses of young servicemen and women. She could often be found tending to her amazing gardens or volunteering her time to many churches, animal shelters and homeless organizations.

On August 19, 2015, Therese married the love of her life, Mike Poe, and she finally ventured outside California; living in Rhode Island, Florida, and Mississippi before returning to California in 2021.

Therese is survived by her husband, Mike, her mother, Margaret West, and her brother, William Pardini, as well as her expansive Schoenstein and Pardini family. She was preceded in death by her son, Benjamin Patrick, her father, William F. Pardini, and her beloved dogs Adolph, Halyard, and Pictou- and too many cats to accurately name.

We will gather to honor Therese at 11:00am on November 22 at Saint Paul the Apostle Church in Pismo Beach, California, followed by a celebration of life nearby at Ventana Grill. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Canine Academy in Atascadero, California.

I went to school with Therese for my junior and senior year of high school. She was unlike anyone else at our all-girls Catholic school. I always thought she was so cool, and it seemed like she had a lot of friends (mostly boys) outside of school. Which made her even cooler! I don't think I ever really spoke to her, but I definitely noticed her. There is a picture of her in our school yearbook reading "Tess of the d'Urbervilles," completely oblivious that her picture was being taken. I was impressed that she not only read the book (I, apparently, couldn't be bothered) but also personally enjoyed it, too. Therese seemed the kind of person who walked her own path and did her own thing. It's such a little thing, but I've always admired her for it.

Therese has a special place in my heart. I am heart broken with her passing but rejoicing that she's no longer broken herself and that she's with Ben. I'm glad our friendship grew this past year and I have those memories. She was fiesty yet had a heart a heart of gold. She loved her family, animals and friends. Someday I will see you again my friend. Prayers to Mike and the rest of her family.

Therese was always so kind and welcoming! As a fellow military spouse, she always had the right thing to say to cheer you up. She would always be the first person at your door if you needed anything. Therese will be missing deeply!

Therese and Mike showed up in my driveway with a truck and trailer overflowing with supplies after Hurricane Michael. They stayed with me for several days, stocking my fridge, providing me with electricity (they brought a generator and gas) and companionship. I was completely overwhelmed and did not even know where to begin to clean up after the hurricane. Their compassion will never be forgotten. Therese had the most beautiful heart and the most amazing smile. Sharon

Therese was such a spit fire. She was very bright, hard working and always upbeat. Therese worked for me at my veterinary clinic when she was in her late teens, early 20´s. We were around when she got married and had Ben. And also when she lost him to leukemia. She was a brave soul and a very dear person. I am so sorry that she has passed. Lorrie Clemens, DVM

Therese was a loyal friend more like a sister . I can remember ridding my bike with Therese and other neighborhood kids to Stanford golf course and sneak through a fence and swim and explore down at the creek . That´s just one of my favorite memories of her

She always brought light and a cheerful presence wherever she arrived. I Let her drive my new Mustang once and we were both so scared, we laughed. So witty, so smart and will always be remembered as a dear, caring and loved friend. Goodnight Angel----May you always rest in loving peace. Dan S.
