Thomas Campbell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 10, 2025.
Thomas Carroll Campbell, 84, passed away on March 6, 2025, in Dunwoody, Georgia. Born on March 2, 1941, in Lima, Ohio, he lived a life filled with warmth, generosity, and laughter.

Thomas was a man who cherished his family above all else. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jean Campbell; his daughters, Jennifer Starker (Cory Starker) and Heather Matos (Casey Matos); and his grandchildren, Zachary Starker, Matthew Starker, Joseph Starker, Zoe Waldrop, Katherine Starker, and Keelani Waldrop. He also leaves behind his sister, Marianna Watkins, and his brother, William Campbell (Donna Campbell). He was predeceased by his parents, John Campbell and Catherine Baumgardner, as well as his brothers James Campbell, John Campbell, Robert Campbell, and Stewart Campbell.

Thomas began his career with Packard in 1972 as a salesman and eventually became the owner in 1990. His passion for hard work along with his big heart transformed that small company in Lima, Ohio into a globally recognized business with brands that will live on in his memory for a long time.

Thomas had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humor that endeared him to all who knew him. His great smile could brighten any room. A kind and giving man, he found joy in making others happy. Whether sharing a story or offering a helping hand, he left an indelible mark on those around him.

An avid golfer, Ohio State Football fan, and a world traveler, Thomas embraced life's adventures with enthusiasm. Whether on the golf course or exploring new destinations, he found joy in the experiences he shared with family and friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held in his honor on June 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Sandy Springs, Georgia (7171 Glenridge Drive).

Thomas Carroll Campbell's legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.

It was my pleasure to have met Tom even for the short while I´ve known him. His pleasant and kind ways are memorable. I cared for Tom last summer when Jean and family left for a short vacation. Tom could not travel at that time, his illness had became a hindrance. We would watch television, sit in the back yard and throw ball with Maggie and Cooper and we would have meals together, as there was not much for entertainment that he could endure. It´s hard to see him leave so quickly but I prefer not to see him suffer as he had reached that place. Tom until we met again
Jean continue to hang in there for he´s in a peaceful place without pain love you both

I was so sad to hear of Tom's passing. I have known a few beautiful people in my life and Tom was one of them. He is in everlasting peace and comfort now, no more needle jabs and painful surgeries. Only God's rest.

Tracy and I are so sorry for your loss Aunt Jean. We love you dearly.

I imagine my daddy and Uncle Tom are having a sweet reunion in heaven.

We will sure miss your sweet and fun-loving husband. We can still see him at the grill the last time we visited. You both were so welcoming and hospitable when we visited. And, the laughter in your home is contagious. We will have that snapshot of you in our minds forever.

Yes, Tom was such an engaging person, always ready to embrace life whether at a gathering, on the golf course or in conversation. He was so easy going and it was our pleasure to spend quality time with him over many years from high school, at reunions, and at get togethers in Colorado and Frisco. He will be missed by many. Love you.
