Thomas DeRocher Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 2, 2016.
Thomas Warren DeRocher Sr went home to be with his Lord and Savior on June 1, 2016 after a brief illness. He was born on September 18, 1942 to Albert and Lois DeRocher. He weighed 7lbs 15oz., 20 inches long.

He is preceded in death by his parents Albert and Lois DeRocher, his sisters Iris Odom and Fay Webb, his brother Lawrence A DeRocher and his grandson Quentin DeRocher.

He is survived by his children Debra, Tom Jr., Cynthia, and Brent. And his brother Peter.

He was blessed with 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Tom was born in Tacoma and grew up in Bonney Lake, where his parents owned and operated the Hilltop Café. Tom attended Sumner High School graduating in 1960. Tom had a beautiful singing voice and was awarded a scholarship in music from Pacific Lutheran University. Tom joined the Army shortly after he graduated. After returning from his time in the military he applied at Parkland Light and Water, got hired and retired after 42 years.

During his retirement he traveled to Europe and around the USA. Tom liked sports, old cars, and most of all serving his Lord.

Our family extends our love and appreciation to staff and friends at Stafford Suites for their kindness and loving care of Tom. We also thank Wiser Care and Franciscan Hospice for their care.

And a special thank you to Tom's best friends Donna and John Porter and Marilyn Furbee for their loving care and support.

Thank you all for making his final journey home a peaceful one.

We are very sorry for the families loss. There is never an easy way thru life, and makes us remember and appreciate the days that we do have and to be a blessing to one another. I remember Toms' bright smile and laugh, and easygoing times. How exciting it was when the pool was being filled in Spanaway, and the family was anticipating a great summer of 1975. Love to you all.
