Thomas Clark Desmond

Thomas Clark Desmond, 81, of Venice, Fla., passed away on Monday, July 8, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Epiphany Cathedral, Venice, Fla., on Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at 10 a.m. followed by military service at 11:30 a.m. at Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Fla. Farley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Tom was born on April, 4, 1932 in Boston, Mass. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired as director of employee assistance at Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals in New Brunswick, N.J. Tom and his wife, Barbara, retired to Venice in 1992 where he enjoyed swimming in the Gulf and in the condo pool, attending the opera and sharing his life adventures with family and friends. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, and his three children, Thomas, Ana Quinzi, son-in-law Mark Quinzi, and daughter Sarah. He is also survived by Godchildren Thomas, Kathryn, and Elizabeth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, Fla. 34238.
