Thomas Eugene Dusch

 

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Eugene Dusch Sr. (Tommy) on May 3, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Sharon, father of Thomas, Michael, Kenny, Kim, and Sheridan, brother of Bernard, Margaret, Madonna, and Maureen, grandfather of Heather, Brian, Ethan, Aidan, Cassidy, and Kayley, great-grandfather to Leilani, uncle to Davie, Wayne, Jeffrey, Tammy, and Jesse, and friend to many.

Tommy was born on March 27, 1944, in DeRidder, Louisiana to Elmer and Dorothy Dusch. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1965. He worked for the United States Postal Service from 1983-2022 as a Vehicle Maintenance Mechanic and retired after 39 years.

He was an avid bowler who passed his love of bowling down to his sons, Thomas and Michael. Tommy served the Broward County Bowling Association in many capacities, and he loved to spend his Saturdays coaching junior bowlers. Through his love of bowling, he created many long-lasting friendships. In addition to bowling, Tommy loved Nascar, and you could find him either at the racetrack or in front of the T.V. rooting for Dale Earnhardt Sr., Dale Earnhardt Jr., or Jimmy Stewart.

Tommy will be remembered for his kind heart, willingness to help others, work ethic, and the love he had for his family.

Friends will be received on Sunday, May 21st from 3:00pm-6:00pm at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home in Plantation. Burial and interment will be Monday, May 22nd at 1:00pm at the South Florida Veterans Cemetery but you must arrive at 12:45pm and proceed to Lane 3.
