I am so sad to hear this news. We had some great times camping, sitting on the back porch sipping our favorite beverage and watching our children play. Debbie in the kitchen making us dinner and not to forget the fabulous cheesecakes that we indudged in. Guys, I am shocked and so very sorry. I love you all

Deb, I just saw this post about Tom and I lost my breath. I have many awesome memories of Tom and you. Tom made work fun and you always opened your home to us crazy bankers. We always had fun. I so sorry that you lost Tom but he will always be remembered.

My former husband, Robert Baker, was Tom´s Econ professor at Hendrix, and we were good friends with Deb and him. Tom brought fresh lima beans to us from his family farm, and I´ve never found any as good as those were. Love you, Deb. Cheryl Baker Park

Sometimes there's a man.
Ward and I were friends in high school and roommates in college. Tom and Deb always treated me with the kindness and fellowship one shows a member of the family.
I thought I was grown then. But, looking back, I was just a kid. How fortunate I was to come into Tom Bentley's orbit as I struggled to figure out how to be a man in the world. He was someone of honesty, integrity, and fortitude. As solid as the concrete around the fence posts he and Ward and Chris and I set one spring at their old house in Baton Rouge. As reliable as the cold beer he'd press into my hand with a story and a smile. As true as a camp fire on a brisk mountain night.
Tom, I'm going to get together soon with Mr. George Dickel of Tennessee, in your honor. I'd like you to tell me just one more story. It doesn't matter what it's about. I'll listen real close, even if I've heard it before.

My condolences to Debbie and the kids. Tom was an awesome guy and fine artillery officer. There were few people in the Arkansas National Guard that you could say that everyone liked , Tom was one of those. Never worked with a finer officer.
He´s now looking down on the Rockies instead of up. Well done Tom.

My heart is heavy with the passing of a special friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to Deb, the Bentley family, and friends.
Tom, when I receive the final March Order command, we shall meet again, dip our mugs into the grog and share a drink of artillery punch, at Fiddlers Green. There I will regal in the stories like only you can tell, at Fiddlers Green. Never Give Up!

One of the most vivid and beautiful memories I have of Tom is of him and Debbie dancing on the patio at Whine in Midland, Michigan. So much joy and love and some great dancing!
