I was fortunate to know Tom when he was with Pizza Hut. I worked with him as a contractor and also played softball with him on the Pizza Hut softball team. Always very upbeat and a pleasure to be around.

I was so very saddened to hear of Tommy's passing. He was such a sweet and fun and wonderful person. He and I were almost all our classes from junior high through high school in Baytown, Texas. Tommy was so funny and could really make you laugh. He dated one of my best friends, Ann Fielder Johnson, and we all had such superb times...My thoughts and prayers are with your family. You are held in the everlasting arms of God's love, as is Tommy. May God's love sustain you, in this most difficult of times.

Although I hadn't seen Tommy in several years, he will always remain in my memory as a very happy, well-adjusted, as well as a very "comfortable in his skin" type of man. I just remember him mostly from our high school days at our beloved Baytown Robert E. Lee High School, so I wasn't aware of his battle with ALS until the news of his untimely passing from this life was shared by a fellow classmate from Lee !!! My sincerest thoughts and prayers for peace and comfort go out to Tommy's wife and family in their time of grief. We'll see you "on the other side", Brother Tommy !!!

May The God Of Peace & Understanding Mend And Heal Your Broken Hearts,

Sincerely,

Tommy's "Old" Classmate,

The two things I loved most about Tom were that I always knew that he would brighten my day and I knew that he would be relentless about doing what was right vs. what was easy. He was a good man and will be missed. My condolences to Pat and the entire family.

I met Tommy around 1968 or 69 when he was dating my sister Ann. Since there were no boys in our family, Tommy quickly took over that role, playing golf with our father and quickly becoming the brother we never had. The entire family adored him. When he and Ann went their separate ways in college, we lost track but through Facebook, I learned of Tommy's illness and wrote to him. What a sweet, sweet soul. He was brave beyond measure, never dwelling on his illness, but always eager to hear about what was going on in the world. I would write him when I had returned from one of my journeys and had just written him a few weeks ago to tell him of our trip to the Texas Hill Country. His strength had been failing and he told me he couldn't type much longer. So when he didn't respond, I understood. I had hoped that we could have met this past Spring in DC as he and his dad were making plans to go. I would have dropped everything to see him again but it was not to be. He is with his sweet father and the angels now. I just wish that my family and I could have known Pat and the children. They were his life and he was just so very proud of them. God bless you all!

I know God places special people in our lives for a reason. I was given the most wonderful opportunity to work for Tom for 7 years. His kindness, genuiness, gentle spirit, and sense of humor will never be forgotten. Even though this loss has truly saddened me, I humbly thank God for the privilege of knowing such a wonderful person.
