Thomas Harold Fey

Tom Fey, also known as the Tennis Guru, passed away peacefully after suffering from two heart attacks at the end of March surrounded by family. The dash of his life started in Everett, WA as the youngest of 2 sisters. He grew up playing many sports including tennis, baseball, golf, and basketball. Once he set his sights on tennis, he began his life's work with a high energy for growing the sport. His quirky and unique personality made him a memorable friend as he traveled the country to work at various clubs and with many organizations. He especially enjoyed teaching tennis to children through his junior programs. In 1977, he found himself in the Coachella Valley working diligently to spread his passion, give back philanthropically, and teach tennis to as many people as possible. In the desert, he met his longtime girlfriend Brooke Shapter and her daughter Natalie. They created a life together that fostered many friendships, Toys for Tots Toy Drives, rescue dogs, travels, Seahawks games, baseball stadiums, and tennis matches. The end of Tom's life was unexpected as he had many more bullet points on his Excel bucket list, but Tom's passionate and can do attitude will be remembered by all who knew him. He never met a stranger and everyone he came in touch with felt special. We will continue to cheer on his Seattle sports teams and raise our Margaritas with each victory.
