Age 76, of Carnegie, on Thursday, April 21, 2011. Beloved father of Sheila (Patrick) Kiernan, Gary (Patricia) Finnerty, Kathleen (William) Brake and the late Thomas R. Finnerty, Jr.; Pop-Pop of Patrick, Conor and Sheila Kiernan; step-grandfather of Nichole, Michelle, Tim, Ian and Christie; brother of Anna Mary Baughman, Joseph "Kelly" Finnerty, Grace Zinski, Harry "Knute" Finnerty and the late John Finnerty, Betsy Vater and Zita Palmosina. Friends are invited to call from 1-9 p.m. on Wednesday at the LEO J. HENNEY FUNERAL HOME, 323 Second Avenue, Carnegie. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday in St. Ignatius Church of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggest contributions to LLS, 333 E Carson St. Ste 441e, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 or the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive Pittsburgh, PA 15205.

Thinking of Tom and your family recently. He was so very important to our family... especially to William. I love to hear him tell stories of them playing. I love that he meant so much to Will that he remembers the smallest details... especially the spearmint gum! LOL
