Thomas K. Harvey

Lenoir City - Thomas K. Harvey passed away Sunday, September 28 at the Ascension St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville. Born November 1, 1939, in Loudon County, Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Diane, parents, Willie Jean (Bill) Magill and Joe Paul Harvey and beloved brother Capt. Billy Joe Harvey. He is survived by his sister Jackie Hair Molderhauer, brother Dan Harvey (Gayle), niece Angie Doyle (Tim), as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Tom graduated from Lenior City High School, where he was a member of the 1958 State Championship Basketball Team. He went on to receive a degree in Engineering from Tennessee Tech University.

Never one to settle down, Tom moved to Florida as a young man and enjoyed a career as an agent with State Farm. Missing his Tennessee roots, Tom returned to earn a Surveying License and work with his father and nephew, James Hair.

Tom lived life to the fullest and was a born entertainer. He loved making people happy with his harmonica playing, dancing, and endless jokes. He never met a stranger. Tom relished his time with family and friends and will be greatly missed, mostly by his companion and wonderful canine, Karley. Special thanks to his friend and caregiver, Scott Taylor.
