THOMAS WILLIAM, ESQ.
Age 77, of O'Hara Township, formerly of Fox Chapel, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Woodside Place in Oakmont. Born in Washington, PA on November 29, 1939. Tom was the son of the late Iona (Bert) and Ray Henderson. He was the brother of David and the late Richard (surviving Jan) Henderson. Tom graduated from Washington High School in 1957. He was in the class of 1961 at Brown University and the class of 1966 at the Duquesne University School of Law. Mr. Henderson was a practicing attorney, starting out as a public defender and then becoming a pioneer in the field of asbestos litigation and other toxic torts, such as Agent Orange. Later in his career, Tom was with Staley Capital Advisors. He served on the boards of the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church and the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He was a member of the Longue Vue Club and Ross Mountain Club. Tom was a bridge Life Master, and a fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams, having Steeler season tickets since 1969. Tom was married for 54 years to Carol (Knestrick) Henderson, a high school classmate. Loving father of Paul Thomas Henderson of Potomac, MD and Susan K. Zinner of Santa Monica, CA. He adored his grandchildren, Hayes, Emma and Sarah Henderson, and James Zinner. There will be a private interment and service at Washington Cemetery, Washington, PA.
