**Thomas Clayton "Tom" Hoffman**

*August 26, 1955 - January 5, 2025*

Thomas Clayton "Tom" Hoffman passed away on January 5, 2025, at the age of 69, due to complications following a heart attack. Born on August 26, 1955, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Tom was adopted by Jean and Gish Hoffman and grew up in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, alongside his sister, Terry Hoffman.

Tom graduated from Elizabethtown High School, where he was an active member of the marching band as a drummer, participated in soccer, baseball, and football, and served as senior class secretary. He pursued higher education at Florida Technical University in Melbourne, Florida, later completing his degree in computer science at the University of Central Florida in 1978. It was there that he met Denise Gill, whom he married on June 10, 1978, the day after graduation.

Tom built a successful career in software development and project management, working for companies such as Scientific System Services, Grumman, and DBA before spending 25 years with JM Family in Deerfield Beach and Jacksonville. Along the way, he earned a master's degree in computer science from Florida Tech in 1995.

Tom and Denise raised two children, Tim Hoffman and Amy Hoffman Redick. He was a devoted father who never missed a game or school event, cheering proudly from the sidelines. In retirement, Tom embraced his passions for pickleball, woodworking, cooking, and travel. He crafted furniture and household improvements with care, attended cooking classes to perfect his culinary skills, and enjoyed numerous cruises with Denise.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 351 Town Plaza Avenue, Ponte Vedra, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis House & Port in the Storm to support feeding and housing homeless teens: [Donation Link](https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/6oxi3nTmzb-dW3aseAQibQ).

Tom will be deeply missed by his family and friends. His love, humor, and dedication leave a lasting legacy. May he rest in peace.

Burt and I miss traveling with you and Denise. You and Burt were so much a like and made cruising around the globe so much fun!!! Denise and I would always say, "What would Tom and Burt do?" The answer was alway, "go for it or buy it"!
I am sorry Duke didn't win the National Basketball Championship this year; but I know you would have been somewhat happy that the Gators won instead. We miss you Tom. We will always remember all the happy times spent with you and Denise. So blessed that you were in our lives.

Tom was a Great man and never failed to show his love for Denise and the kids. He would cook for our poker games at their home in South Florida and welcome as many friends as would show up. I enjoyed knowing him. I Know he will be missed. Prayers for Denise, Amy, Tim and ALL who knew and Loved him.
