Dear Anna and Mary Preston,
I just heard the news about Tom! I thought he would go on forever, with his charm, wit, curiosity and generosity. He has been a presence in my life for as long as I can remember. I heard the stories of my grandparents (Kay and Truman) traveling with his father to South America, and I watched the gentle rows Tom had with my mother (cousin Katchen) through the decades over environmental issues. As a child I enjoyed his formal bow ties and twinkling eyes, and until very recently he would call up and surprise me with enchanting phone conversations. I shall miss him.

My deepest sympathy to the family, I have known Mr. Horn Since a very little girl, My father started working for Tom as a young boy, he was my Daddys best friend and mentor. We had many fun times together at Edgewood country club, P A Denny and my favorite Hilton Head. We were family. I was very lucky to have my Dad as vice President of Kanawha Steel. My mother Barbara Keeney loved Mr. and Mrs. Horn and all their children. My dad Bob Keeney is very sad, he told me Tom asked twice for him to come to hospital before his passing and my father did.He loved him so.. May God bless Mr Horn and his family. You will be truly missed

My husband and I were so sorry to hear of Toms passing. My husband has known Tom for many years and I got the pleasure of meeting not only him but his sweet wife Anna some years ago. We would go over to their house and he and Anna always made us feel welcome. The relationship that the two of them had was so special. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Anna as she is going this this very hard time. Heaven gained a great man.

I worked for Tom from February 1955 until he sold the company. I then worked until my retirement in 1995. Tom Horn was not only my boss but one of my best friends. He was a prince to work for. He made many good things happen in my life that would never happened if it were not for him. I will miss this man for as long as I live. Tom was also a great friend. After he sold the Company in 1993 we continued to stay in touch with one another about once a month until his death. We would talk about old times and the Stock Market. We would also discus politics and for the most part were on the same page. I had predicted the Trump upset to him. Our last conversation was about three weeks ago. I was surprised at his passing he seemed to be in good spirits at that time.
I will miss those monthly phone calls. Our friendship Spanned 62 years of his 95 years on this earth.

MAY GOD BE WITH HIM AND MAY HE GIVE HIM MANY BLESSINGS. IF A MAN EVER DESRVED IT IN MY BOOK IT WAS TOM L. HORN JR
