Thomas Kippen Obituary
Tom taught and coached at the Unity Christian School in Energy. He taught children from the first grade up to High School.
He attended Christian Covenant Fellowship Church in Carterville and was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving during the Korean War.
Tom was born October 30, 1936 in Staten Island, NY to James and Lillian (Drake) Kippen.
Tom was united in marriage with Janet Walden on June 13, 1987 at the Hitching Post in Big Bear, CA.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years in June, Janet Kippen of Herrin; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy J. Kippen and Ileana Frometa Grillo of Aliso Viejo, CA; daughter, Erin Kathleen Kippen of Aliso Viejo, CA; step daughter and son-in-law, Rachel Renea and Jeffrey Blevins of Royalton; granddaughter, Natalie Renee Blevins of Royalton and a brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Emma Kippen of Clifton Park, NY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Eugene ?Bud? Kippen and James Kippen.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Herrin City Cemetery with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Herrin American Legion Post # 645 and the Baker-Ladd V. F. W. Post # 1567.
Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2015 at the Unity Christian School Gymnasium in Energy with Rev. Ralph Brandon officiating.

Uncle Tom, I came across this while looking for ways to contact you and Mike to let you know that Mom has passed on 4-25-15. I'm sure you guys have this all planned to meet and reconcile in heaven, but it sure is getting lonely down here. If other family reads this I can be reached at 513-253-8276.
