Thomas R. "Tommy" Madden of Antioch A memorial service for Thomas R. "Tommy" Madden, 51, will be held at 12 noon Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch, 1055 Main St. (Route 83), Antioch. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Born June 20, 1958, in Waukegan, Ill., the son of Thomas G. and Judith (McGreal) Madden, he passed away Friday, July 31, 2009, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee, Wis. Tommy was the beloved soul mate and husband of Debbie Madden and devoted father of Tommy N. and Ashley Madden. Tommy lived in Round Lake Heights, Ill., for many years and moved to Antioch with his family 22 years ago. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #1539, most recently working for Lorig Construction. Although he unquestionably loved carpentry work, Tommy's idea of relaxing was cutting the grass and tending his vegetable garden. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and hockey player. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Blackhawks. Tommy was an incredibly loved man, by many family members and friends. On October 11, 1986, he married Debbie at St. Joseph's Church in Round Lake, Ill. Survivors include his soul mate of 22 years, Debbie; children, Thomas N. and Ashley A. Madden of Antioch; parents, Thomas G. (Judy) Madden of Round Lake Heights; sisters, Beth (Lehman) of Lindenhurst, Ill., Tracey (Carl) of Fox Lake, Ill., Kitty of Paddock Lake, Wis., and Kelly of Ingleside, Ill.; mother-in-law, Alice (the late Chester); sister-in-law, Joan (Eugene); brother-in-law, Jeff (Ruth); and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, countless friends, and his beloved Labradors, Connie and Payton. He was preceded in death by two uncles, George and John, and his maternal and paternal grandparents. For information, 847-395-4000. Please sign the online guest book for Tommy at www.strangfh.com.
