Thomas Meade, age 75, dedicated family man, local dentist, and inventor, passed away July 16, 2016.



A graduate of the New Mexico Military Institute, Tom attended Tulane University before graduating from the dental program at Marquette University. Tom was awarded the Bronze Star while serving as a dentist in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam. After receiving an honorable discharge he opened a dental practice in Albuquerque. He has been recognized as a pioneer for his work on sleep disorders and held four patents for dental appliances to treat obstructive sleep apnea and snoring. Tom was also known for his love of old cars and travel.



He is survived by his wife, Caroline Oxnard Meade; his children, Gary Meade, Lori Caldwell-Carr (Tim), Thomas Meade, Jr. (Michele), Charles Meade (Julie), and John Meade (Lindsay); and his grandchildren, Russell, Adam, Sheridan, Celeste, Noelle, Benjamen, Scarlett, Ethan, and Sasha. His life was also deeply touched by so many others, especially Deborah Mann; the Eylicio family: Chancy, Manny, Dominick, Julian, and Hailey Jo; and so many others. Tom was preceded in death by his father, Frank; his mother, Viola; and his brother, George.



A funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2016, 2:00 p.m., at St. John's Episcopal Cathedral in Albuquerque.
