THOMAS DENNIS O'GORMAN

EDNA - Thomas Dennis O'Gorman, of Edna, passed away Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009 at the age of 60. Thomas was born in Wichita Falls on Feb. 25, 1949 to the late A. A. "Doc" O'Gorman and Helen Gattis O'Gorman of Edna.
Although born in Wichita Falls, Thomas grew up in Edna and Bruni. He graduated salutatorian of his class, Bruni High School 1967. His greatest joy in high school was playing for the Bruni Badgers, where he was an all-state football player. He graduated with a master's degree in business administration from Texas A&I, Kingsville.
Thomas was a master electrician whose work took him to many different states. He loved fishing, canoeing, kayaking and bow hunting. He was a very caring and loving son, brother and uncle. Most of the time he was away at his job, but whenever he could he would make time to attend his niece's and nephew's sporting and school events. He tried very hard to take care of this mom and sisters, especially after his dad's death. He will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.
Thomas is survived by his mother; sisters, Teri O'Gorman of Dallas, Toni Lewis and husband James of Edna; niece, Jamie Sulak and husband Matthew of Ganado; nephew, Forrest Lewis of Austin; great-nieces and great-nephew, Lauren, Emma, Jacob and Julie Sulak of Ganado.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. with a memorial service directly following at 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, in the Oaklawn Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Michael Petering will be officiating.
Memorials may be made in memory of A.A. "Doc" O'Gorman to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, 11435 Cronhill Drive, Owings Mills, M.D. 21117-2220.
Arrangements are under the direction of Oaklawn Funeral Home in Edna, 361-782-2221.

Ron and I are so sorry to hear about Tommy. Our hearts and prayers are for both Tommy and your family. Tommy was an intelligent, philosophical, fun-loving person (even an All-Stater in football!) whom everyone from Bruni High and elsewhere genuinely liked. O'Gorman charmed all his friends with his scintillating personality and his ready smiles. We've good memories of Tommy. God bless you and your family.

Dear Helen, Aunt Toni, Uncle Jimmie, Teri, and Family,

I am sorry to hear about Tommy's death. It's hard to lose a loving son, a caring brother, and a great uncle. We are not meant to live in this world, we're only passing through. Truly Tommy's life is just now beginning, entering into eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven with our Lord. The last thing Tommy said to me was, "I found God again!" Thank you Jesus. May God bless and protect you all with the blessing of the blessed mother and may the power of the holy spirit be upon you forever. I believe that God wanted to end Tommy’s suffering on earth, and give him love in heaven with Doc. He’s in good hands now and will always be with you, just call his name and he’ll answer. If there’s anything we can do to help at this time, please let me know. Tommy was blessed to have such a loving and caring family on earth, and will see you all in Heaven when God calls you home. God Bless!

Our Deepest Sympathy,
Love the Powell Family
