Thomas Francis Peacock, 67, of Reno, Nevada, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.

Thomas was born in Alameda, California, to John and Marie Peacock of Hayward, CA, the oldest of six children. He grew up in Fremont, CA, and graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory in San Jose, CA. He then attended San Jose State in San Jose, CA, and received a Bachelors of Arts degree. He married Deborah Dodds of Burbank, CA in 1972, before enlisting in the U.S. Army. After two years, spending one of these at East Tenn. State University and receiving a Bachelors of Science, the Army gave him a direct commission as a second lieutenant.

After six years of active duty, the birth of four children, and a desire to live near family again, Thomas rejoined civilian life. For the next 25 years, he and his family lived within ten miles of Tom's parents. During this time he worked as a registered sanitarian for Alameda County, CA, served in the Army Reserve, and coached CYO track.

With the County Health Department he progressed from restaurant inspector to hazardous materials unit manager. With the Army he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He also acquired a Masters in Public Administration, attended Command and General Staff College, and wrote the book: "Is It Safe To Eat Out?."

Upon retiring, Tom moved to Reno. He became active at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church and in the Knights of Columbus.

Tom is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Peacock, his grandfather, Frank Peacock, and his uncle, Father Frank Peacock (Diocese of Phoenix.)

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deb Peacock, his father, John Peacock of Mt. View, CA, his children, John (Tiffany) of Stockton, CA, Joseph (Johanna) of Oakland, CA, Andrew of Reno, and Elizabeth (Jaran Carson) of La Crosse, WI, his granddaughter, Annie Peacock of Stockton, CA, four brothers, a sister, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary will be held at 7 pm Friday, August 11, 2017 at Walton's Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second Street. A Funeral Mass will take place at 11 am Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Our Lady of Snows Catholic Church, 1138 Wright Street. Interment will be 11 am Monday, August 14, 2017 at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 7101 Verner Avenue, Citrus Heights, CA.

We miss Tom at the Saint Mary's Health Club. Tom was an instant hit there and had fun topics of discussion with many members. Our deepest condolences to Tom's family and friends on his passing. May he RIP.

My biggest big brother, Tom was the most upbeat, optimistic person and his energy was infectious.
So lucky to have been in this family.

Tom was my best friend. I miss him so much. He helped me pick out my first bicycle. He taught me to drive and ride a motorcycle. He was the best thing that ever happened to me.
