PENRICE, Thomas William, age 89 of Mt. Juliet, TN died Sunday, October 3, 2010. He was the perfect English gentleman with a smart and witty sense of humor who always had a construction project underway. Mr. Penrice was born on July 2, 1921 in Wigton, Cumberland, England. He was a consultant in Metallurgy for over 60 years. Mr. Penrice worked on aircraft systems in London during WWII. He was Head of Research and Development with PerPro in Sharpenhoe, England for 25 years. Mr. Penrice then became VP of Greenleaf Corp in Saegertown, PA. He was then associated with Teledyne Firth Sterling as VP and consultant for 36 years. Mr. Penrice was preceded in death by parents, Thomas Henry Penrice and Annie Smith Penrice; his first wife of 29 years, Dee Penrice; brother, Lewis Penrice; sisters, Margaret Morris, Kathleen Lynch, and Anne Cavie; and step-son, William O. Russell. He is survived by wife, Esther Penrice; daughters, Carolyn Newcombe, Lindsey Penrice, Beverly Leach, and Sarah Burgoine; step-children, Karen Horan, Wendy Brecht, Peggy Noel, and Francis Scott Russell; 11 grandchildren; 9 step-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and 13 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Penrice will be Friday, October 8th at 2 pm at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment will follow the service at the Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Jim Oakes, Charles Leach, David Burgoine, Felix Leach, Scott Russell, Mike Horan, Jim Brecht, Bob Noel, and Quentin Batcho serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are the staffs at the Pavilion and Vanderbilt. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, October 7th from 5-8 pm. Arrangements by SELLARS FUNERAL HOME AT MT. JULIET, 2250 N.
