Thomas James Prokarym, 74, passed away peacefully Nov. 20 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Throop, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sophie Kurpatwa Prokarym. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Linda Crandall Prokarym.
Tom was a graduate of Johnson Tech and, before his retirement, worked as a machinist for Acker Drill Co. for almost 50 years. Tom was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Throop, and the Holy Name Society. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
Tom was a car enthusiast, an avid music lover and enjoyed meteorology as a hobby. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered as a loving father and grandfather, devoted husband and trusted friend.
In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his daughter, Noreen Dructor and husband, Ned; his daughter, Lori Jasinski and husband, Thomas; his three grandchildren, Thomas Jasinski Jr., Christian Dructor and Elizabeth Dructor; his brother, John Prokarym; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Stanley Prokarym.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, Nov. 24, at 9:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Parish, Throop. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., Throop.

Sharing in your sadness during this difficult time. Working with Tom at Acker Drill over 45 years have given me a lot of memories. Tom was a good machinist and co-worker. He will always be remembered.
