I remember Tom as a good reporter and writer as well as a good American, we need more like him.

One of the few enduring friendships from work. Toms broad experience always made for good stories and his wisdom and help was appreciated. My wife and I will always have a warm spot in our hearts when memories of Tom occur.

July 7, 2019

I met Tom when I was starting as a very-raws inexperienced sports writer for the News-Herald right out of Mentor High School in June, 1964...but it was something he did on my behalf in the summer of 1971 that I best remember Tom for. I was with the 600th Air Force Band at Clark Air Base, Republic of the Philippines, when suddenly all the Filipino Base Exchange workers went on strike. All of us had jobs assigned until the strike ended. Mine...was helping this factory bake bread. The Air Force send tons of PR releases to hometown newspapers about those like me who were filling in with jobs we weren't used to. One of those releases went to the Cleveland Press...and onto the hands of Tom Prusha, who immediately called my mom to verify that I was that same guy who once wrote for the News-Herald. Tom personally visited my mom to get a hold of a photo of me which was used in a Cleveland Press story, complete with a headline, press released and my head photo...all thanks to Tom Prusha. Love ya,Tom Prusha!
