I have had two heroes in my life time. One was my Doctor who helped me get through cancer, the other was Tommy Dean. As a skinny little 7th grader at Mars High School I was in awe of this big guy who could do so many things with a basketball. He was everthing I wanted to be both on the court and as a person. He took the time to talk to me, and encourage me to keep working at the game. When I became a Varsity player, he came back to a few games and we would sit in the bleachers and talk about the game. He would give me a few tips on how to play their big man. I only wish my son Steve who now plays on the Varsity had such a great role model. Tom was not only big in stature ,he was a giant in his heart and spirit. God bless you Tommy Dean - I will never forget you.
